Bruce Tapping, CEO. Bruce was born and brought up in Zimbabwe and educated at Open University, London (B.Sc.). Immediately after university he founded Cape Review magazine - which was endorsed as Cape Town's official tourism guide by Cape Town tourism - before he moved on to the UK and then Shanghai, China working in Publishing and Financial Sales management. He was also founder of Zimfest, a UK based charity initiative for Zimbabweans living in the diaspora that attracted over 5000 people to its annual flagship fundraising event. Bruce returned to Zimbabwe in 2013 to launch Africabookings. He is married with 2 young daughters and lives in Harare, Zimbabwe and travels all of Africa.
Adrian Lunga, CTO. Adrian has a B.Sc. Hons in Physics and Computing from De Montfort University UK and an M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering & Technology from Aston University UK and E.N.S.T. France. He was born and brought up in Zimbabwe but lived most of his life in London UK. He was an International Telecoms Business Consultant with AMS-CGI, Ericcson and Locrian Consulting and launched the first mobile internet services in Africa (Congo for Celtel/Bharti) and one of the first in Europe (Ireland for Eircom). He lives in London, is married with 2 young children and manages Africabookings' technology in London. are a team of veteran travel entrepreneurs, startup advisors and mentors dedicated to investing in the world’s most talented travel entrepreneurs and early seed-stage travel technology ideas. We fund, advise and provide business development services and help acquire follow-on capital for our portfolio companies. Matt Zito is the founder of and brings 20+ years of experience in travel having founded and sold two travel companies.
Jan Passoff, Adviser. Jan has a Law Degree from the JD Cardozo School of Law and has founded 2 previous Travel Starts ups - STAR travel - Russia's largest student travel company and one of the first OTAs in Russia, as well as Unifest - one of the largest TMCs in Russia.
Bart Tompkins, Adviser. Bart has a BA (Hons) in Law and Social Anthropology from Cambridge and an MBA with distinction from London University Business School. He is currently Managing Director Greater China for Amadeus IT Group and was formerly Strategy in Amadeus HO as well as CEO at Opodo.



Distribution Platform

Our intelligent distribution platform connects you with multiple Channels. These Channels include both Consumer facing Online Travel Agents as well as B2B Wholesalers of Hotel Accommodation.

Inventory Management We provide you with various means of managing your room availability:
  • Cloud based Guest Management Module
  • Cloud and desktop based PMS Property Management Systems (provided by our PMS partners). We integrate to these programs meaning you take advantage of our Distribution Platform but manage the room availability using the software you currently have in place
  • If you are not ready to use the Guest Management Module or a PMS then simply let us distribute your rooms through to our Channels using an Allocation model (allocate us 1 or 2 rooms to distribute across all Channels).
Internet Booking Engine

Drive sales through your own website by allowing guests to book directly through your site.
This can be done in real-time as we have your room availability though the Guest Management Module, or your PMS, or via the rooms you have Allocated to us.


In the recent Phocuswright Travel Innovation Summit held in November 2015 in Fort Lauderdale, Africabookings was the sole Africa representative. We showcased our innovative business model for helping hotels & lodges across Africa manage their room inventory and distribute these rooms in real-time through global Consumer and Business facing re-sellers.

In the recent Eye for Travel Global Start Up Awards held in March 2015 in San Francisco, Africabookings was awarded tied runner up position. Out of the numerous global start ups that entered the event only 12 finalists were chosen with Africabookings taking 2nd place.
